Roxane McEnery Obituary

Roxane M. Borghi McEnery, 62, of South Bend, passed away unexpectedly following a brief illness on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.

Born on June 3, 1963, in Meriden, Connecticut, Roxane was the beloved daughter of the late Janie (Dow) Borghi and Elliott Borghi. She was also a cherished sister to Sandra Turley and Michael Borghi.

Roxane met and married the love of her life, Aubrey McEnery, who preceded her in death.

Above all else, Roxane’s greatest joy and purpose in life was being a mother. She poured her heart into her children, Brett Borghi (Lori Lemieux), Laurie Borghi (Michael Galbraith-Popma), Jasmine Rose Sparks, and Nicholas (Greg) Lonzo, who were truly the center of her world. Her love for them was steady, deep, and unwavering.

That same deep love extended to her grandchildren, Jaden Ivory, Ethan Moul and Paul Borghi-Lemieux, who brought her immense pride and happiness. She treasured every moment with them and found joy in watching them grow.

Roxane found companionship and adventure in her dear friend Jae Plowman, with whom she shared many meaningful years. Together, they traveled, explored family histories through genealogy, and created lasting memories filled with laughter and discovery. Their adventures, from trips to themed dinners at home, brought Roxane joy, especially her favorite, Mexican food night, which became a cherished tradition for the whole family.

She had a love for life’s simple comforts, good food, games, television, and especially books. Through these, she passed on to her children a lasting appreciation for imagination, curiosity, and togetherness. Though she sometimes found the world outside overwhelming, her home was always open, a place of warmth, acceptance, and love. It was there she nurtured her children’s sense of wonder and belonging.

Roxane appreciated beauty in quiet ways, a peaceful moment, a shared laugh, a beautiful view. And while she carried her struggles, she never let them diminish the love she gave so freely.

As written by her favorite author, Anne McCaffrey, “Make no small plans, for they have no power to stir the soul.” Now free from the burdens she carried, Roxane’s spirit is unbound, able at last to take in every beautiful horizon.

She will be remembered for her love of family, her gentle heart, and the lasting legacy she leaves in the lives of her children and grandchildren.

“We love you, Ma!”
