Roy Edward Baber

Roy Edward Baber, Sr., 85, of Buchanan, MI passed away Sunday, November 23, 2025 at West Woods of Niles surrounded by his family.  He was born April 24, 1940 in Clay County, KY.  On November 28, 1959 in Buchanan, MI, Roy married Phyllis (Bilotti) Baber, who preceded him in death on July 28, 2018.

Roy is survived by his daughter, Kelly Moore; sons, Steve Baber, Roy (Sharon)N Baber, Jr., and Mark Baber; grandchildren, Jordan Kelley, Justin (Tearah) Kelley, Colin Baber, Camryn Baber, and jesse Baber; great-grandchildren, Tiela and Nova; brother, Len (Wanda) Robbins; nephews Danny Baber and Bill Baber; and several nieces and nephews.

Roy loved going to garage sales and auctions, and took special interest in restoring his classic car and riding motorcycles.  Roy worked for many years as an axel mechanic for Clark Equipment, and spent time traveling to Chili, Canada, and Kuwait.  Roy was a Jack of All Trades, and was his family’s go-to guy when they needed rescuing.  He was always willing to lend a helping hand and took pride in being the one to build the two homes he and Phylis lived in during their life together.

In keeping with Roy’s wishes, cremation will take place.  Palmer Funeral Home-Hoven Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at 2PM at the American Legion Post 51 in Buchanan, MI.

Contributions in memory of Roy may be given to Gentiva Hospice.
