Russell Brogdon Obituary

Russell Aaron Brogdon, 57, passed away at his home on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2025.  Russell was born in Mishawaka, Indiana on February 20, 1968 and attendedMishawaka High School.   Russell had recently moved to Edwardsburg, Michigan where he had purchased a home with a view of Painter Lake.

Russell leaves behind his two children, Jeremy Brogdon and Stephanie Brogdon, as well as three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  Russell was pre-deceased by his parents, James Brogdon, Sr and Beverly (Compton) Brogdon, as well as his long-time companion, Peggy Hostetler.  He is survived by his siblings Cynthia Brogdon (Theresa Maturo), Valerie Milcherska (Paul McCombs) and James Brogdon Jr. (Tamra Brogdon).

Russell was a gifted artist and enjoyed creating beautiful paintings, mixed media and cards. He took great pride and comfort in building his aquarium.  In his earlier years, Russell worked as a paint and body man and cherished taking his young family to the car shows. Russell was particularly fond of muscle cars which he frequently posted on social media.  He found great happiness in watching sunsets and walking around the lake next to his home.  Although Russell often struggled with life, he was loved by many and he freely gave love to those around him.

Please join the family in Celebration of Russell’s Life on Sunday, January, 18, 2026, from 11:30-2:30 at The Varsity Club, 3800 N. Main St, Mishawaka, IN.  A light lunch will be offered.
