Russell W. Wise

NORTH LIBERTY – Russell W. Wise, 63, of North Liberty, passed away Friday, April 30, 2021 at Memorial Hospital.

He was born February 2, 1958 in Lakeville, to the late Everett Wayne and Mary Joan (Hire) Wise.

Russell graduated from LaVille High School in 1976.  He furthered his education and went to trade school in carpentry.

Russell retired after twenty-four years of service from I/N Tek where he was an operator. 

On April 14, 1979 in North Liberty, he married Karla Clark; and she survives.  Russell was a member of the Carpenters Union 413, Steel Workers 1029 and was a 4-H leader.  

Surviving is his wife, Karla of North Liberty; daughter, Stephanie (Brian) Leland of Mishawaka; son, John Wise of North Liberty; daughter, Sarah Wise of Dowagiac, Michigan; four loving grandchildren, Brandon McIntyre, Nona Leland, Nora Jean Leland, and Harper Swisher.  Also surviving are his five siblings, Judy (Richard) Collins of Oklahoma, Raymond (Ted) Wise of Florida, Richard (Kathy) Wise of Lakeville, Robert (Barb) Wise of Lakeville, and Ralph (Mary) Wise of Bremen.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30AM on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at the Palmer Funeral Home, within the Palmer Community Complex, 601 North Michigan Street, Lakeville, with Jim Gillette officiating.  Friends may visit with the family from 4:00PM – 8:00PM on Wednesday and from 9:30AM -10:30AM on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made in Russell's honor to the St. Joseph County 4-H Scholarship Fund.

Burial will be at Fair Cemetery.
