Ruth Reta Morrow, 86, of Niles, MI., passed away at 8:05 p.m. Monday, May 16, 2022, in her residence surrounded by family. Ruth was born on November 27, 1935, in Neponset, IL to Russell and Marie (Noe) Kemerling, who both have preceded her in death. On November 28, 1953, in Mishawaka, IN., Ruth married James E. Morrow. James preceded her in death on March 31, 2012.
Ruth is survived by a daughter, Lynne (Larry) Livengood of Niles, MI.; a son, James Morrow of Niles, MI., Five grandchildren, Kelly, Matthew, Nathan, Lee and Lanee; Twelve great grandchildren; Two sisters; Bonnie Norin of Neponset, IL and Arlene Gray of Kewanee, IL. She was preceded in death by her siblings, brothers Roy and Arthur and two sisters Mae and Julie.
Ruth was a devoted wife to her ‘Darling’ James and a very loving mother and grandmother. She loved all of her family deeply. She was a strong, hard worker. Ruth was young at heart and never let anything slow her down. She enjoyed sewing and crafting, gardening, baking, canning and loved to be outside. She was a die-hard Chicago Cubs and Notre Dame fan and loved to listen to the games on the radio.
Ruth loved traveling the US in their camper, especially to the mountains. She was a long-time faithful member of her church and was a Sunday school teacher for many years. Many people knew her as a prayer warrior. She was a shining light and always so encouraging to everyone. Ruth will be remembered for always ‘Praising God’, her Christmas cookies, peanut butter balls, fruit cakes and saving big money at Menards. She knew many scriptures by heart but one of her favorites was Romans 3:23-24 ‘For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.’
Visitation for Ruth will be on Sunday, May 22, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at First Church of God of Niles, 33180 U.S. Highway 12, Niles, MI 49120 where services will take place on Monday, May 23, at 11 a.m. with one hour of visitation prior to the services. Pastor Bob Jackson will officiate the services with burial to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, IN.
