Sandra Jo (Scheiman) Davenport

Sandra Jo Davenport, born September 1st, 1941, was born and raised in South Bend, IN. She spent the last 8 years in Greenfield, IN where she passed peacefully on November 12th, 2023 at the age of 82.

She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Otto and Virginia Scheiman, as well as sisters: Connie, Sharon, Jackie, and Ginny. She is also preceded in death by her first husband Joe Braunsdorf with whom she had two surviving sons and daughter-in-law —  Joe Braunsdorf Jr. and John and Minji Braunsdorf.

Her second husband, Bill Davenport, came with three stepchildren; Bill Davenport Jr., who preceded her in death, Jan Davenport, and Karla Davenport who have both survived her.  

She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Stacy Fristoe, and is survived by three granddaughters Heather Robertson, Salena Gratzol, and Carissa Gratzol, grandson Taylor Braunsdorf, and two great grandsons Finn and Milo Robertson. 

Sandy was a woman who held a deep love for her family and moved through the world with tolerance and care. She greeted everyone with a smile and a kind word.  She enjoyed baking cookies at Christmas time, decorating throughout all seasons, playing Euchre with friends, and golfing. She was active and lived life to its fullest. She is fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who were touched by her beautiful soul. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023 from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm with funeral service at 4:00 pm at Palmer Funeral Home - Welsheimer Chapel, 17033 Cleveland Rd., South Bend, IN 46635.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com
