Sharon J. Evans

Sharon (Rothe) Evans, age 64, passed away on Wednesday, January 9th, 2019 in South Bend, IN.  Sharon was born September 1, 1954 in South Bend, IN to the late Louis “Jack” Rothe and Shirley Rothe.  She was the middle of 3 children.

Sharon married David Evans on August 24, 1974 and they lived together in South Bend, IN where they raised two daughters. Sharon dedicated her life to caring for others.  She graduated from Ivy Tech in 1973 with a degree in nursing and went on to work in the NICU at Memorial Hospital.  She then went on to work as a nurse for Doctors MacLeod and Kim and was the County Coordinator for St. Joe County Special Olympics.  Later in her life, she enjoyed employment working as a private duty nurse as well as a nurse at Logan Center.

Sharon is survived by her husband, David Evans; daughters Sarah Evans and Megan Varga (Shane); brothers Craig Rothe (Carol) and Jeff Rothe (Leslie).  She is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 19th from 12-2pm at Palmer Funeral Home – Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St, South Bend.  The funeral service will follow directly at 2pm.
