Sharon K. Grady, 74, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, June 17, 2021 at Creekside Village in Mishawaka, IN. She was born on July 9, 1946 in Mishawaka to Minet Henry McCartney and Maude Frances (Crabb) McCartney, both of whom preceded her in death.
Sharon is survived by her daughter, Michelle (Kevin) Hall of Leesburg, IN; sons, Phil (Christa) Grady and Scott (Diana) Grady, both of South Bend, IN; ten grandchildren, Anthony (Brittany) Grady, Joshua Grady, Amy Grady, Ashtyn Castor, Chandler Castor, Grayson Hall, Carter Hall, Scott (Kaleigh) Grady Jr., Cody Grady, and Marisa Grady; three great-grandchildren, Max Grady, Ezekiel Grady and Arya Grady; and brother, Larry (Sue) McCartney of Mishawaka. In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her grandson, Darian McGrath; sisters, Clara Frances Runnels and Virginia Evelyn Smith; and brothers, Paul James McCartney, Kenneth McCartney, Norman McCartney, Lee McCartney, and Keith McCartney.
Sharon was a lifelong resident of Mishawaka. For many years, she attended Bethel Tabernacle in Niles, MI, but most recently, she attended Ironwood United Pentecostal Church in South Bend, IN. She was a member of Red Hat Society. She enjoyed playing games such as cards, dominos and Scrabble with friends and family, as well as doing crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. She was an avid cook and baker, who was famous for her pumpkin pie, potato salad, and strawberry freezer jam. She served as the lead cook at church camp. Sharon also enjoyed singing.
Sharon loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren loved to play pranks on her and scare her. She was always a great sport and would laugh along with them. She will be dearly missed by her whole family.
Funeral services for Sharon will be held at 12:00pm on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Bethel Tabernacle, 71378 Ironwood Drive, Niles, MI. Pastor Matthew Bair and Pastor Clint Walker will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens in Niles. Friends may visit with the family at the church from 4:00-7:00pm on Wednesday, June 23rd as well as from 11:00am-12:00pm on Thursday, June 24th. Palmer Funeral Home—Hickey Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
