Sherry L (Edmonson) Gwynn

Sherry L. Gwynn, 63, of Mishawaka, died Sunday September 20, 2020 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka, IN. Sherry was born in South Bend on September 21, 1956, the daughter of Robert L. and Delores J. (Chadwell) Edmonson, both of whom preceded her in death.

On May 15, 1976, Sherry married Randy Scott Gwynn in New York; he preceded her in death on April 10, 2007, after 30 years of marriage. Randy was in the military, and their military family lived all over the world, wherever Randy was stationed, until his retirement from the service and their move to Mishawaka in 1991.

Sherry was a retired Certified Nursing Assistant who was always known as a “people person.” She truly enjoyed her work at Golden Living Center and cherished the time she spent with her family and friends.

In addition to Randy and her parents, Sherry was also preceded in death by three brothers, Brian Edmonson, Daniel Edmonson and James Reed. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Gwynn of Mishawaka; sons, DeWayne Gwynn and George Gwynn, both of Mishawaka; grandchildren, Justin Gwynn, William Gwynn, Charlene Gwynn, Dyllin Gwynn, Lilyin Gwynn, Madylin Roemer, and Brenden Gwynn; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara (Joseph) Abraham of LaPorte, IN; Brenda Wright of Elkins, WV; and Kathy (Robert) Suchovsky of Mishawaka; brothers, Robert Edmonson, Kenny (Tammy) Edmonson, and Donald (Peggy) Edmonson,  all of Mishawaka; and sister-in-law, Tonya Edmonson of South Bend.

A memorial service will be held 2:00pm on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Palmer Funeral Home—Bubb Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00-2:00pm at the funeral home.
