Sherry Lynn Schwartz, a beacon of love, faith, and selflessness, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2023 at 1:23pm at Trailpoint Village nursing home in South Bend, Indiana.

Born on December 22, 1951, Sherry spent her life spreading warmth and kindness to all who crossed her path. Sherry was a pillar of her community, dedicating countless hours to volunteering at Granger Community Church and Susanna's Kitchen. She also served on the activity council at various elementary schools, where her passion for helping others shone brightly. Her unwavering commitment to service was a testament to her big heart and the love she had for her community.

In her personal life, Sherry was a loving sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her daughters, Marisa Baker and Destani Schwartz; her granddaughters Chelsea Betts and Chloe Baker; her grandsons, Cameron Baker and Ayden Anderson; her great-grandchildren, Kye, Macie, and Myles as well as her brothers and sisters Karen Goller, Richard Gollar, Kristy Fergen, Lisa Tamplin, Michael Duncan and Michele Macias. Sherry was preceded in death by her daughter Mindee.

Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Sherry's life was a living example of a quote by Mother Teresa: "Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love" the love and care she put into every small act of kindness made a significant impact on those around her. Sherry’s faith was a guiding force in her life, providing her with the strength and resilience to face the challenges that came her way. Her selfless nature and unwavering faith were an inspiration to all who knew her. She was a living testament to the power of love and faith, and her legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Sherry's battle with dementia was fought with grace and courage. She faced this challenge as she did everything else in her life, with strength, dignity, and an unwavering faith. Her resilience in the face of adversity was a testament to her strong character and the depth of her faith. In her passing, Sherry leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and selflessness. Her life was a testament to the power of these virtues, and her memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. She was a beacon of light in the lives of many, and her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she left behind.

Sherry Lynn Schwartz will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and service will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched. Her life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and selflessness. Her memory will be cherished by her family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by her kindness.

Memorial visitation for Sherry will be held from 3pm-4pm on Tuesday September 19, 2023 at the Palmer Funeral Homes-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend.  A memorial service will be held at 4pm at the funeral home.
