Susan Lynda Gilbert Esparza

Mrs. Susan Lynda Gilbert Esparza, 55, passed away after a brief illness at West Bend Nursing & Rehab on the afternoon of Tuesday, September 15, 2020. Susan was born on March 20, 1965 in Chicago, IL to the late Thomas Berry Gilbert and Pearl (Fanning) Gilbert.

Lynda was a devoted mother and grandmother who cherished the time she spent with her friends and loved ones. She was a homemaker and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Lynda is survived by her husband, Rudolf F. Esparza of South Bend; a son, Thomas Gilbert of Arlington, TX; two daughters, Heather Yager of Arlington, TX and Sarah Hubbard of South Bend, IN; two stepsons, Rudy Esparza of Kenosha, WI and Joseph Esparza of Lake Geneva, WI; seven grandchildren; two sisters; a niece and a nephew; as well as a host of extended family members and friends.

A memorial service for Lynda Esparza will be held on Friday, September 25, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Palmer Funeral Homes – West Chapel, 2702 Lincoln Way West, South Bend, IN 46628. Pastor Ben Webb to officiate. Friends may call on the family for visitation for one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
