Taylor L. Hanback

Taylor Lee Hanback, born November 30, 1993, in Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away on July 17, 2026, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was a beloved son, brother, cousin, uncle, and friend whose presence brought warmth, laughter, and kindness to those who knew him. Taylor lived his life with a generous spirit and a steady love for the people closest to him, and he will be remembered with deep affection by all whose lives he touched.

Taylor was the son of James Hanback and Lisa (Mike Slater) McKinney. He shared a close bond with his sister, Morgan (Shannon) Flynn, and his brother, Adam (Ashlee) Hanback. He was also a cherished cousin to Jared Fisher and a loving uncle to Emery and Wren, who brought him great joy. Family meant everything to Taylor, and he valued the time he spent with those he loved. His relationships were marked by loyalty, humor, and a genuine care for others that will be remembered always.

Taylor was a proud graduate of Mishawaka High School, Class of 2012. He carried the lessons of his upbringing and education with him throughout his life, meeting others with a down-to-earth nature and a strong work ethic. He spent time working as an optical technician, where he was known for his dependable manner and willingness to help. Taylor approached his work with quiet dedication and took pride in doing his best in every role he held.

Outside of work, Taylor found joy in the simple things that made life meaningful. He enjoyed working on cars and appreciated the satisfaction that came from hands-on projects and time spent learning and fixing. He loved hanging out with friends and family, and those moments of laughter and conversation were among the things he treasured most. Taylor also enjoyed playing World of Warcraft, where he found entertainment and connection, and he held a special appreciation for the film Interstellar, which remained his favorite movie.

A time to visit with the family will be on Thursday, July 23rd, 2026, from 10-11 a.m. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., all being held at Palmer Funeral Home – Bubb Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, IN 46545. A procession to Sumption Prairie in South Bend will immediately follow the service. Pastor James Chupp will officiate the services.
