Terrance Paul Egan, 70, of South Bend, Indiana passed away peacefully November 20th, 2021 surrounded by his wife and children.
Terry grew up in a loving home in the South Side of Chicago with his parents John and Margaret Egan (deceased) and his eight siblings: his four brothers John (deceased), Thomas, Robert and Richard, and his four sisters Barbara, Candace, Susan and Deborah. Terry was an excellent athlete who especially loved playing the sports of baseball, football, and boxing.
In his adult life, he was an avid White Sox fan, valued learning through reading, and played chess every day. He took particular joy in coaching his daughter’s softball teams at East Side Baseball/Softball Association. As a fellow coach said, “he made every girl he coached feel like an All-Star no matter their ability”.
Terry was preceded in death by his daughter, Briana Egan. He is survived by his wife, Julie; by five children, Shannon (Nick), Griffin (Michael), Christopher, Thomas and Margaret; and by eight grandchildren, Bailey, Emma, Michael, Lily, Joseph, Millie, Luke, and Theresa.
In the words of his children, he was the smartest, strongest, funniest, toughest man they will ever know.
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 27, 2021, 10 am to 12 pm at Palmer’s Funeral Home-Welsheimer Chapel-North, 17033 Cleveland Rd., South Bend, IN, A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1: 00 p.m at St. Matthew’s Cathedral, 1701 Miami St., South Bend, IN. Father Terry Fisher will officiate.
