Terry L. Kubsch, 85, of Wausau, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 29, 2026, surrounded by his family. Born on June 16, 1940, in South Bend, Indiana, Terry left behind a legacy of leadership, loyalty and deep devotion to his family. Terry was the cherished son of the late Melvin (Pete) and Dorothy (Bauer) Kubsch. His journey through life was shared with the love of his life, Mary Kathleen (Brazo) Kubsch for 58 years, until her passing on January 7, 2020. Terry was also preceded in death by his sister, Judy (Dick) Lindzy. Terry was a supportive and loving father to his two children Jeanne (Jeff) Ostrowski of Wausau, Wisconsin, and Pete (Elaine) Kubsch of Rossville, Indiana. His legacy continues through his adored grandchildren, J.B. (Zoe) Kozlovich, Jenna Kozlovich, Terry (Becca) Kubsch and Jamie (Trevor) Byrd and his treasured great-grandchildren, Henry and Lucy Kozlovich. Terry was a natural competitor and leader from an early age. A standout in high school athlete, he played baseball and basketball, and had a lifelong love of sports. He learned early on the value of loyalty and trust from his family and friends in his childhood neighborhood, affectionally called, “Dogpatch.” He loved sharing stories of his childhood and teen years, always referring to himself, proudly, as an original “Dogpatcher.” He built an exceptional career with Pepsi-Cola, beginning in vending and sales and rising through the ranks to become President and General Manager of Cardinal Bottling Company in South Bend, Indiana, and later at Hoosier Refreshment in Logansport, Indiana. He served on the Board of Directors with Hoosier Bottling Association, Wis-Pak, Inc. and was President of the Indiana Soft Drink Association (90-92). He gave 44 years of dynamic leadership to the soft drink industry. His professional life was marked by integrity, organization, time management and relentless drive. Terry was truly a shaker and a mover…someone who made things happen, and he left a lasting impression on colleagues, customers and the community he served. Terry also served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps. Terry will be remembered for his loyalty, determination, strong sense of organization and t ireless work ethic, but also for the indelible impression he left on everyone who knew him. His influence will continue to be felt through his family, friends and the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Friday, February 6, 2026 at St. Therese, Little Flower Catholic Church, 54191 N. Ironwood Road, South Bend, IN. Graveside services and burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 8:30-10:30am on Friday at Palmer Funeral Home-Hickey Chapel, prior to Mass. A luncheon will be served at Little Flower Church immediately following Graveside services and burial.
