Thelma Snyder Obituary

Thelma M. Snyder, age 97 of South Bend, passed away Sunday evening in her home surrounded by family.    Thelma graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in 1944.  Thelma was a homemaker and worked for many years for the former E.H. Tepe Company in South Bend.  Thelma was born October 15, 1926 in South Bend to the late Ralph and Lovina (Wells) Brillhart and lived in this area all of her life.  On February 1, 1947 in South Bend, Thelma married Donald M. Snyder who preceded her in death on December 6, 2018. 

The memory of Thelma’s long life will be cherished by her family and friends.  Thelma is survived by her daughter, Jane (Pete) Nagy of Elkhart, IN and a son, Mark Donald Snyder of South Bend, two grandchildren, Erika (Brian) Dutrieux of Rogers, Arkansas and Matthew (Kelly) Nagy of Kalamazoo, MI, five great grandchildren, Jack and Emily Nagy and Lukas, Blake and Grant Dutrieux.  Her siblings Dorothy Organ and a brother, Ralph Brillhart, from Ludington, Mi preceded Thelma in death.

 She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church for over 75 years.  Many memories were made on summer vacations and holidays with siblings and family in Ludington, Mi.   She loved being with family, supporting her grandchildren, and great-children at events and activities.

Honoring Thelma’s wishes, there will be no public services.  A private service will take place in the spring at Southlawn Cemetery.
