Thomas Brogdon Obituary

Thomas C. Brogdon, age 72, passed away peacefully surrounded by love on March 9, 2026, in Mishawaka, IN. Born on the first of April in 1953 to the late Robert Wise and Marjorie (Lange) Wise in South Bend, IN, Thomas was a beacon of strength and joy in the lives of all who knew him.

Thomas was a South Bend Riley alum, Class of 1971, and went on to become a successful entrepreneur who proudly owned and operated a local salvage yard for 25 years. Through his career, he established lifelong friendships and was a respected member of his industry through his dedication and work ethic.

An avid collector of model cars, Thomas's passion for vehicles extended beyond his professional life and was reflected in his treasured collection. He was often found in the garage, tinkering with a new addition to his assembly of miniature automobiles, a hobby that, for Thomas, was more a labor of love than a pastime.

Family was the cornerstone of Thomas's life. He is survived by his devoted sons, Matthew (Tiffany) Brogdon, Beau (Sonya) Brogdon, and Vance Brogdon. Each of his children were the embodiment of his spirit and were brought up with the same hearty laughter and generosity that Thomas himself carried. His beloved grandchildren, Shannon, Kaylee (Noah), Ashlee, Logan, Sofia, and Ella, and great grandchild Addison, will remember their grandfather as a man of warmth, boundless love, and the bestower of treasured memories. He also leaves behind a loving sister, Patricia Pinckert, a brother, Bobby (Karen) Wise, and another brother, Larry Brogdon. He joins in eternal rest his brother Donald Wise. Thomas's legacy will be cherished through endless family tales, each one celebrating his kindness and vibrancy.

Among Thomas's greatest achievements was his nine years of sobriety, a testament to his indomitable willpower and commitment to his family. His pride in this accomplishment was evident and inspired many around him to pursue a path of betterment and wellness. He found solace and joy in nature, whether while camping, fishing, or simply spending time at the beach along Lake Michigan. His laughter will echo on the waves and his spirit will be felt in the calm of the outdoors.

Thomas looked forward to the lively hum and boundless love of big family gatherings above all else. These moments, where the family came together to share in each other's company, reaffirmed the deep-seated bonds and unity that Thomas always fostered. It was during these times that his penchant for helping and caring for his family shone the brightest.
