Thomas Minchk Obituary

Thomas Dean Minchk passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2020 after health complications from cancer.

He was born November 2, 1944 in Prairie Du Chien, Wisconsin. Tom loved sharing stories about growing up with his brothers and sisters in Prairie; especially about his favorite burger joint, Pete’s Hamburger Stand. It was in Prairie that he also met his late wife, Shirley (Johnson) Minchk. They were married for 42 years, and loved to watch sports, head to the casino, and host the holidays.

Tom left the Badger state and spent the last 12 years in South Bend, Indiana. He continued to work tirelessly in the window business, golf, grill steaks, and cheer for the Badgers & Packers. He also shared his life with Sandie (Reed), a proud Hoosiers fan, who taught him to love rescue dogs, play tennis, and cheer on endless college basketball games.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Marguerite (Gaulke) Minchk and brother, Fred Minchk. Loving father to Mark (Kim) Minchk, Scott (Amy) Minchk, and Chris (Erin) Minchk.

Proud Papa to Simon, Leah, and Addison. Brother to MaryLee (late Joe) Pedretti, Patricia (Richard) Shepard, and Bill (Ellen) Minchk. Fond in-law to Anne, and uncle to his many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later time when crossing state lines to gather and share stories, safely, returns once again. Until then, the family thanks you for continued prayers.
