Tyrone Lee Neely Sr., a man known for his laughter, strength, and unforgettable presence, passed away on April 4, 2026. Born on April 21, 1971, in South Bend, Indiana, Tyrone lived a life that touched everyone he encountered. If you knew him, you loved him—he had a way of leaving a lasting impression on every heart he met.
He was born to his mother, Rosemary Neely, and was one of several siblings: Jeaneen Neely, Richard Neely, Michael Neely, Terrance Neely, Betty Neely, and Carlvene Neely. Family meant everything to him, and he carried that love throughout his life.
Tyrone was known as one of the funniest people you could ever meet. His humor, charisma, and kindness made people feel seen, comfortable, and happy just being around him. He was also a great cook, someone who could bring people together not just with food, but with his spirit. He worked many jobs throughout his life, including factory work, and took pride in providing for his family and being present for his children.
At the age of 34, Tyrone survived a traumatic brain injury after a life-threatening attack. Though he faced many challenges afterward, he showed incredible strength and resilience, living 20 more years - years filled with love, connection, and moments that his family will cherish forever. His journey was not easy, but it was powerful, and it is a testament to the strength he carried within him.
He leaves behind his beloved children, Olivia Winston and Tyrone Neely Jr., and his bonus son, Joshua Neely, three grandchildren Dion Winston Jr, Damani Winston, Kehlanis Winston. He was more than a father, he was a protector, a source of joy, and a constant presence. He also leaves behind a host of family members, friends, and loved ones who will miss him deeply.
Tyrone’s legacy is one of laughter, love, and strength. He made people feel better just by being himself. His memory will live on in the stories, the laughter, and the love he gave so freely.
Though he is no longer with us physically, his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
