Virgil D. DeLanghe, 88 years old, passed away at 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, peacefully at his home. Virgil was born on February 2, 1934 in Lakeville, IN to the late Julius and Lula (Clements) DeLanghe. He has remained a lifelong resident. On July 29, 2006 at the Lakeville United Methodist Church, Virgil and Betty L. DeLanghe were united in marriage.
Along with Betty, his loving wife, Virgil is survived by two daughters, Sherry (Rich) Ringer of Plymouth, and Debbie (Joe) Bonanno of Lutz, FL; step-daughter, Cindy (Chuck) Hamilton of Bremen; two step-sons, Randy (Ruth) DeLanghe of Wakarusa and Ryan (Peg) DeLanghe of Mishawaka; seven grandchildren; and one great granddaughter.
Virgil began working at the Lakeville Geyer Farms, then at National Dairy. He retired from AM International Inc. formerly The Charles Bruning Company. Virgil proudly served his country with the United States Army and was a member of Lakeville United Methodist Church for over 50 years. Virgil was raised with one brother and extended family.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 14, 2022 at the Lakeville United Methodist Church, 610 N. Michigan Street, Lakeville. Pastor Rev. Ed McCutchan will officiate. A private burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Notre Dame, IN. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the church. Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, South Bend is assisting the family.
