Virginia Lee Hofmann

Virginia Lee Hofmann, 94, residing in Mishawaka, Indiana passed away on Monday December 12, 2022, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka.

Virginia was born in Hammond, Indiana on April 17, 1928, to Clarence and Esther Frahler Weber.

She was raised partly in Cleveland, Ohio and then eventually moved to South Bend, Indiana.  Her one and only employer was 1st Bank and Trust Company, now known as 1st Source Bank.  She worked at the main office downtown first as a Teller, then Head Teller, Cash Vault manager and finally Operations Manager.  She was employed there until her retirement in 1994 after 48 years with the bank.  She enjoyed countless outings with the Women’s Club at 1st Source. 

She spent her entire life giving.  She gave every family member anything they could possibly want or need that was within her means. She was a selfless and generous giver and opened her home to anyone that needed a place to live.  She is survived by her niece, Pamela Barnes, and great nephews, Michael Pulling, Johnny Pulling and Gary Pulling and their families.  She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Dorothy Barnes and Patricia Noffsinger; niece, Cheryl Pulling; and nephew, David Noffsinger.

She was a lover of all animals, especially dogs and cats. She is also survived by her two Golden Retrievers, Frankie and Cody.  Teddy, her other golden, also recently deceased.   Per Virginia’s wishes, no formal services will be held.
