Virginia C. Korkhouse, 91, passed away on March 23, 2024, in her hometown of South Bend, IN. She was born in the same loving city on November 25, 1932, to the late Mary (Wechnerowski) Otolski and Joseph Otolski and grew up surrounded by the warmth of a large family.
Virginia was a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister. She is survived by her son, Warren Korkhouse Jr., grandson: Joshua (Emma) Korkhouse, and great grandson; Sullivan Korkhouse, along with her sisters: Patricia Jackmovich and Barbara Crump. She was preceded in death by her husband Warren L. Korkhouse; her sisters Clementine Muckenfuch and Teresa Katona, and brother Walter Hes.
For nine years, Virginia served diligently as a secretary at Dun & Bradstreet before taking well-earned retirement. Her work ethic and attention to detail were admired by all her colleagues.
A long-standing member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Virginia's faith formed the cornerstone of her life. Describing Virginia as faith-filled captures her essence perfectly—always leaning on her beliefs and being an example of strength and grace in her community.
Virginia’s family wishes to thank everyone at both Wellbrooke of South Bend and Traditions Health for everything they did for Virginia.
Per the family’s wishes, no services will be held.
