Virginia A. “Ginny” (Meyer) Moore, residing in South Bend, passed away peacefully at 11:46 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2022 in her residence at the age of 98 years old.
She was born June 16, 1923 in Hermann, Missouri, a daughter of the late Williams Julius & Ella (Rousset) Meyer, and has lived in South Bend since 1975, coming here from Indianapolis.
On July 17, 1943 at the Hermann United Methodist Church, Hermann, MO, Virginia was united in marriage to Walter N. Moore, Jr., the love of her life for 67 years. Walt passed away on September 24, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Wright.
Mrs. Moore was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church, and the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Newcomers Club of Michiana.
She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Moore of South Bend, IN; and her daughter Jennifer Moore of Parker, Colorado, along with two granddaughters, Lindsay (Jeremy) Reeves, and Kelsey (Jake) Green, four great-grandchildren, Maryn, Grady, and Griffin Reeves, and Cohen Green. She is also survived by her brother Don D. Meyer of Las Vegas, NV; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Services celebrating the life of Virginia Moore will be at noon on Monday, May 16, 2022 at Grace United Methodist Church, 3012 South Twyckenham Drive, South Bend, with Rev. Stacee Fischer-Gehring officiating. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service on Monday.
