Virginia Belle Rearick

Virginia Belle Rearick passed away at her home on July 6, 2022 and is now with her Lord and Savior because of her faith and commitment to Jesus Christ. She was born January 1,1922 in South Bend, Indiana to Carlton Kindig and Ruth Fortin Kindig, who both preceded her in death.  On May 24, 1941 in South Bend, Virginia was united in marriage to Murray A. Rearick, who preceded her in death on April 22, 2010. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca (Tom) Ditto of Granger and her son, Brian (Joann) Rearick of South Bend.  Virginia was a homemaker and loving mother and grandmother. 

In 1969, Virginia and Murray moved to Quincy, Illinois. She spent many years volunteering in the Tea Room at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.  She was a member of Quincy Country Club where she was an avid golfer.  She was a member of Vermont Street United Methodist Church, PEO, Atlantis and loved reading and playing bridge.  She and Murray returned to South Bend in 2001. She was a member of River Park United Methodist church.

She is survived by 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Thomas Kindig of Hillsdale, Michigan.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Murray Rearick, III; her sisters, Betty Wachs and Joan Erickson; and her brother, Carlton Kindig.

Memorial services will be held at 11am on Monday, July 25, 2022 with visitation 2 hours prior to the service at Palmer Funeral Home, River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend, IN.  Internment will take place at a later date at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.  Palmer Funeral Homes – River Park Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
