Wanda R. (Kilgas) Gordon

Wanda R. (Kilgas) Gordon, 72, of Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away on April 3, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and friends.

Wanda was born on January 30, 1954, in Mishawaka to William and Florence Kilgas. She grew up there and graduated from Mishawaka High School with the Class of 1972. She will be remembered as a kind and caring woman whose gentle spirit touched many lives.

On April 23, 1983, Wanda married the love of her life, Jeff Gordon. Their marriage was built on devotion and companionship. She was a devoted wife, sister, friend, and loving mother to her darling daughter, Heather Gordon.

Wanda spent more than 28 years at Teachers Credit Union, primarily as a payroll specialist. Her colleagues appreciated her calm and thoughtful approach to her work.

Wanda enjoyed gardening, especially tending to over 100 varieties of daylilies. She cherished time with family and friends and enjoyed traveling across the United States, particularly two trips to Hawaii. She loved animals, particularly watching hummingbirds and butterflies in her backyard and snuggling with her grand-dog, Leo.

Wanda is survived by her husband, daughter, and son-in-law (Jeff Gordon, Heather Gordon, and Brian Campbell) and her sisters, Martha Emmert (Alan) and Kathleen Fashbaugh. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Florence Kilgas, and her brother, Daniel Kilgas.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., with a service at 5:30 p.m., at Palmer Funeral Home – Bubb Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, IN 46545.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph County Humane Society, 2506 Grape Rd., Mishawaka, IN 46545.
