Wanda E. Snavely

Mrs. Wanda E. Snavely, 84, passed away at Raclin House in Mishawaka on the afternoon of Sunday, May 2, 2021. Wanda was born on September 13, 1936 to Silas and Elizabeth (Whiteman) Ritenour.

A life-long resident of South Bend, Wanda was employed through South Bend Community School Corporation as a special education bus driver. On November 2, 1958, at South Bend City Church of the Brethren, Wanda was united in marriage to Mr. Philip L. Snavely. Together, Wanda and Philip raised three children. Wanda was a member of Trinity Evangelical Free Church and enjoyed spending winters in Sebring, FL. Most of all, Wanda cherished time she got to spend with her loved ones. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her loving husband of 62 years, Philip Snavely of South Bend, Wanda is survived by three daughters: Janet (John) Saunders of South Bend, Beth (Rick) Stoner of Lakeville and Cynthia (Dan) Vanheste of New Carlisle; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother LaMar (Donna) Ritenour of Sebring, FL; as well as a host of extended family members and friends.

Wanda was preceded in death by both of her parents and three sisters: Carolyn Bartlett, Sue Yoder and Yvonne Klotz.

Services for Mrs. Wanda Snavely will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Palmer Funeral Homes – West Chapel, 2702 Lincoln Way West, South Bend, IN 46628. Friends may call on the family from 5-7:00 PM on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at the funeral home, as well as one hour prior to service time on Thursday. Rev. Joshua Brooks will officiate.
