Wash Junior Drummer, III, affectionately known as Bo, passed away on November 17, 2023, in South Bend, Indiana. Born on November 24, 1954, in Greensboro, Alabama, he was a father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, leaving behind a legacy filled with the fruits of hard work and love.
Wash was the son of the late Wash Drummer, II, and Patsy Hambright Drummer. Despite his limited formal education, Wash was a man of strength, and practical knowledge. He spent most of his life as an automotive laborer.
Wash was a dedicated family man and is survived by his children; Ashley R. Drummer of South Bend, IN, Margaret Napier of Inkster, MI, Wash Drummer IV of Tuscaloosa, AL, Michael Drummer and Timothy Drummer, both of South Bend, IN. In addition to his children, Wash was blessed with fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by his brother, Leo (Johnnie) Drummer of Havana, AL. Debra Barrett, the mother of Wash’s children also survives. Wash was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters; Girtha Crout, Annie Bee Dunson, and brother Fred Tinker.Wash’s life was a testament to the power of perseverance, resilience, and the unwavering commitment to family. His legacy will continue to inspire and guide his family for generations to come.
