William “Bill” Joseph Biron, Jr., 82 years old, of Mishawaka, Indiana passed away the evening of January 31, 2023. He was born to the late William and Vivian (Crothers) Biron on December 3, 1940, in Mishawaka. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Jackie Diffendarfer and Barbara Conway.
On September 3, 1966, Bill and his loving wife, Susan, were united in marriage. He is survived by Susan of Mishawaka, Indiana as well as their four children, Becky (John) Spanier of Schererville, Indiana, Bill Biron of Mishawaka, Indiana, Mariette (Karl) Quinn of Chesterton, Indiana, and Monica (Mark) Minne of Granger, Indiana. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, Matt, Maddy, Kayla, Melissa, Rachel, Abby, Hannah, Amanda, Ian, and Kathleen; and one sister, Carol Gross of South Bend, Indiana.
From a young age, Bill had a passion for serving others. After graduating from Mishawaka High School in 1959, he became a member of the National Guard, serving for six years and eventually rising to Sergeant. He then served as a Mishawaka police officer for 28 years before retiring. When he wasn’t working, Bill loved to go camping, play golf, and spend time with his family at Disney World. He was an incredible husband, father, and grandfather, and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
A public visitation will be held on Monday, February 6, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Palmer Funeral Home - Bubb Chapel, 3910 N Main St, Mishawaka, IN 46545. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 7 at 10:00 a.m. A graveside service will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
