David McDonald, at the age of 79, left his earthy home to his heavenly home. David was born on December 25, 1941 in Harrodsburg, IN.  His parents Rev. Fred McDonald and Kathryn (Robbins) McDonald preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his five siblings.

On August 26, 1961 David married the love of his life, Mary Ellen (Hubanks) McDonald. She survives along with two sons Bill McDonald and Brad (Charlene) McDonald. Four granddaughters, Aubery (Jon) Edwards, Alese (Adam) Miller, Kristen (Mitchell) Kois, and Brianna McDonald. Also great-grandchildren; Nora Edwards, Levi Edwards, Benjamin Miller, and Asher Miller.

David served on the North Penn Township Fire Department for 30 years of which 4 years as Fire Chief. He also served on the Indiana Army National Guard 4 years and U.S. Army Reserves 4 years. He was a member of Teamsters Union Local 364. He retired in 2003 as custodian from PHM School Corp.

David and Mary enjoyed spending winters in Florida and summers at Lake Tippecanoe.

Visitation for David will be on Sunday, November 28, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Palmer Funeral Home-Bubb Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, where funeral services will take place on Monday, November 29, at 2:00 p.m. with one hour of visitation prior to the services.

Rev. Steve Coyle will officiate the services with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Mishawaka with VFW Post # 360 conducting military honors.
