He was born June 1, 1932 in McComas, WV to the late Sylvester Lee and Clois Cherry (Accord) Stewart. In 1952, William married Pauline Mash – they were married for 47 years before her passing in 1999. In 2001 at Calvary Baptist Church in South Bend, William married Anna May Guthrie, who survives. William and Anna just celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary.

Through his work for Accelerated Christian Education, William was able to start over 200 Christian schools in churches throughout Michigan and Indiana. He valued understanding the Bible and spent his free time answering questions on gotquestions.org - faithfully doing so for almost 20 years. He and Anna were also members of Northside Baptist Church in Elkhart. William also loved working with his hands – especially woodworking and spent much time working on the churches he pastored. He loved to paint and draw. He always enjoyed driving. He dearly loved being with his family.
