William E. Stone

William E. (Bill) Stone, 77, of Mishawaka, IN., passed away at 4:57 a.m. Friday, December 16, 2022, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center Mishawaka.

Bill was born on March 5, 1945, in Oakland, Ca to George and Ida (Sprenger) Stone, who both have preceded him in death.

On September 6, 1969, in Sioux City, Iowa Bill married JoAnn Foy. JoAnn survives along with a son, Jeff Stone of Davenport, FL, a daughter, Julie (Brad) Avrett of Lakewood, CO, six grandchildren: Mychel (Megan) Mackowiak, Nick (Mercedez) Stone, Jessica Stone, Amanda Stone, Addisen Avrett and Maxwell Avrett and one brother, Robert (Gayle) Stone.

Bill served in the U.S. Coast Guard and retired from John Hancock in 2000 after 31 years of service. Bill loved his family. His kids and grandkids were his biggest accomplishments. Bill and JoAnn enjoyed golfing and playing cards with friends and family. His other loves were the Green Bay Packers, Notre Dame sports, and listening to Oldies music.

Cremation will take place with a celebration of life to be held on Friday, April 7, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. Palmer Funeral Home – Bubb Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka with a visitation being held 2 hours prior to the services.
