William G. “Bill” Fuchs, 55 years old, passed away at 10:15 p.m. on Friday, January 30, 2026 at Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born on February 23, 1970 in South Bend, IN and lived in the Lakeville area for most of his life. Known as “Brutus”, he worked for Frick Services for much of his working career as a manager and retired from there under Ceres.
Bill is survived by his brother, Steve Fuchs and wife, Courtney; nieces, Madelyn and Ava Fuchs, who he adored and were the light of his life, all from Lakeville. He is survived by his aunts and uncles, Janet Fuchs, Nancy (Dave) Isenhour, Larry Strycker, Beth (Jason) Good, Tom (Donna) Herbster and Karen Buckles. Bill is also survived by many cousins who he enjoyed playing Wordle with and sharing time.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Lanny and Donna Fuchs; grandparents, Mary Jane and Donald Herbster, Bob and Betty Fuchs; and his aunt, Karen Strycker.
Bill was a loving brother, brother-in-law, son, nephew, and cousin to many and was quick with the wit and was one to “poke the bear” on occasion. Bill enjoyed watching the stock market, Notre Dame football, collecting toy tractors, and his daily Wordle with cousins. He liked his daily drives through the country, visiting Aunt Polly on Thursdays at 3:00 p.m. plus 9:30 a.m. Sunday meetings at Steve’s house to see his girls. He never missed a Sunday for over 21 years. Bill’s ashes will be scattered, along with his parents, for their final resting place on the family farm. We feel Bill’s purpose came to fruition when his nieces were born and he relished in seeing them grow up into smart, successful, beautiful adults. He was a very proud uncle. A special thank you goes out to Bill’s close high school friends, which he called his “gang” for all of the support they have given him over the years.
