William “Bill” Joseph Kremer, 85 years old, passed away on Sunday morning, June 12, 2022 at Elkhart General Hospital. Bill was born on June 14, 1936 in Shelbyville, IN to the late Vernard “Bud” and Mildred “Mid” (Miller) Kremer. Bill was married on June 22, 1957, in Mishawaka, to Janet “Jan” Jensen who survives. Bill grew up in Shelbyville, IN and has been a local resident for more than 60 years.
Along with Jan, his wife of 64 years, Bill is survived by his 3 daughters, Kimberly Kay (Byron) LaRue of Billings, MT, Gina Marie McCartney of Billings, and Kristina Anna (John) Erdrich of Sugar Grove, IL; grandchildren, DanaRae Marie McCartney, Alexis Marie Erdrich, Brice Matthew Erdrich, Shai Briann Erdrich, and Aimee Elise LaRue.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Sheila (Kremer) Cedino, and brother, James Kremer.
Bill retired from the School City of Mishawaka after teaching for 42 years. He received his bachelor’s degree from Ball State University, master’s degree from Indiana University Bloomington, and has done post grad work in Bridgeport, CT, New Delhi, India, Notre Dame, and Purdue. When Bill did not have a book in his hand, he enjoyed gardening, camping, and spending time with family.
A funeral service to celebrate Bill’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at the Palmer Funeral Home-Bubb Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, IN 46545. Graveside services and burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, Osceola, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at the funeral home or one hour prior to the services on Wednesday.
