William "Bill" Leonard Obituary

William (Bill/Bennie) Paul Leonard, 69, beloved brother and uncle passed away at 10:13 a.m., Wednesday, May 25, 2022. He was born May 20, 1953, in South Bend, IN to the late Harold Paul and Eleanor Louise (Botham) Leonard. He spent most of his life in the South Bend area. 

Bill attended Riley High School and graduated in 1973.  He worked as a landscaper for Foegley’s Landscape, did maintenance for Park Jefferson and retired from Bendix.  Bill had a love for fishing, golf and was an avid Notre Dame fan.  He also loved following his beloved “Cubbies” and the Chicago Bears.  Bill’s greatest joy came from spending time with family and friends.

Bill is survived by his sister, Judy (John) Hartwright of Conway, SC, two nephews, Scott (Stephanie) Stevens of Montgomery, IL and Don (April) Stevens of Marietta, GA, four great nieces and two great nephews.  Bill is also survived by close friends William Wagoner, Tim Andrews and his fishing buddy Harlan Ruthruff.

In keeping with Bill’s wishes, cremation will take place and no services will be held at this time.  Palmer Funeral Home – Welsheimer North Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
