William Palmer “Bill” Snyder Sr., 73, of North Liberty, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 surrounded by his family at home.
Born on March 2, 1953, in South Bend, Bill was the beloved son of the late Harold Leroy and Eilene (Freeze) Snyder. A lifelong resident of the North Liberty area, Bill built a career as a dedicated teamster truck driver, spending many years in the transportation industry with Yellow Freight. He took great pride in his work and in the friendships he made throughout his years on the road.
Bill found joy in the simple things in life. He loved spending time fishing, watching classic Westerns, and most importantly, making memories with his family. His quiet strength, hardworking nature, and unwavering love for those closest to him will be remembered eternally by all who knew him. He retired from truck driving in 2010 and took every opportunity to be there for his children and his grandchildren in any way he could.
He is survived by his children, Jessica (Jason Beck) Snyder of South Bend, Sara Coker of South Bend, and Bill (Darice Barr) Snyder Jr. of Noblesville. He was the proud grandfather of Lucas Snyder, Jace Jachimiak, Stella Beck, Kiana Coker, and Elijah Coker, each of whom brought him great happiness and pride.
Bill is also survived by his siblings, Patricia “Pat” Criniti, Bob (Donna) Snyder, Becky Schoelkopf, John (Gwen) Snyder, Steve (Kathy) Snyder, and Noel (Kim) Snyder; along with his sister-in-law, Joanie Snyder, brother-in-law, Mike Werntz, brother-in-law, Tim Baughman, and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Leroy and Eilene Snyder, as well as siblings, Lee Snyder, Chris Werntz, Sue Baughman and brother-in-laws Jerry Schoelkopf and Frank Criniti.
