William Lawrence Sanders, known to many as Larry, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026, in South Bend, IN, at the age of 54. He was born on October 11, 1971, in Hammond, IN, and lived a life marked by kindness, loyalty, and a steady devotion to the people and pastimes he loved.
Larry was a proud high school graduate and carried the values of hard work and perseverance throughout his life. He enjoyed playing golf since high school, and the game remained one of his favorite pastimes for many years. Whether he was spending time on the course, enjoying the outdoors while camping, or following his beloved Chicago Cubs, Larry found joy in simple pleasures and in the company of those around him.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Lawrence Sanders and Judith (Pete) Sanders. He is survived by his daughter, Britney Sanders of Chesterton, IN, and his grandson, Carter Sanders. He also leaves behind his sister, Shannon (Keith) Jeffers of Schererville, IN, as well as his brothers, Edward “Michael” (Lynette) Sanders of Granger, IN, and Christopher (Nannie) Sanders of Dallas, TX.
Those who knew Larry will remember him as a man who valued friendships and the moments that made life meaningful. He had a quiet strength that left a lasting impression on the people fortunate enough to know him.
Larry’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will continue to cherish the time they shared with him. Though he is no longer with them, the love he gave and the memories he created will remain a lasting comfort.
