Xaiyanna Marie Patterson was born still on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at 6:15 PM to parents Dereka Patterson and Christopher Woods at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. She weighed 8 pounds, 7 ounces and was 20 inches long.

Dearest baby, please know that our greatest blessing was having you.

Our family was blessed to see her beautiful face, unfortunately our angel was called to her heavenly home before she was able to take a breath. Though she never spent any time with us, she touched so many of our lives.

She is survived by her parents, Dereka Patterson and Christopher Woods, both of South Bend; uncles Bobby and Dommenick Williams, both of South Bend; aunts Laliah, Sequoi and Bella Smith, all of South Bend; grandparents Desmoneek Smith and Deryck Patterson of South Bend; great-grandparents Daisy Smith of South Bend and Pam Patterson of South Bend; great-great-grandparents Jessie Smith and ElDonna Cabanaw of South Bend; as well as a host of great aunts, great uncles and cousins.

She will be greeted in Heaven by her great-great-granny, Dessie M. Marbley; great-grandad Melvin Smith, Sr and Issiac Patterson; great uncles Dennis Marbley and Gary Marbley.
