Rick joined the staff at Palmer Funeral Homes in April of 2012. He began his career in funeral service at the age of fourteen. He attended Andrews University and graduated from Southwestern Michigan College and Wayne State University. In 1989, Rick became a Licensed Funeral Director in the states of Indiana and Michigan and in Arizona in 2003.
"My career choice was made early in life. I soon realized that helping people through the most difficult time in their lives was something I was passionate about. When death knocks on life's door, funeral service professionals have just one opportunity to provide compassionate and dignified closure, and to do it right. Transitioning with a family from grief to recovery is the most rewarding experience. My 30+ years in funeral service has provided me with a wealth of experiences and opportunities to serve families of every age, race, culture and faith. I can say that the impression made on me early in my career has helped me excel in funeral service. I serve every family as though they are my own - and in many ways, they are. "
Rick resides in Berrien Springs, MI with his wife Jamie, three children: Drew, Amara, and Gabriel, and a dog, “Capone,” in their home. Three adult children and three grandchildren complete their family. Rick enjoys running, working out at the YMCA, and spending time with family and supporting their sporting events. He attends Pioneer Memorial Church and the Village Seventh-day Adventist Church.
