Brigitte Morton Obituary

Brigitte K. Morton, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2023, in South Bend, Indiana. Born on January 10, 1945, in Lauingen, Bavaria, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Heinz and Karolina (Schwarz) Kugelmann.

She began her career as a MAN Diesel assembly person in Germany, where she worked diligently and made lifelong friends. Later, she moved to the United States and became a waitress at L&G Restaurant, where she was known for her warm smile and spirited demeanor.

In her free time, Brigitte was an avid gardener who took great pride in her beautiful flowers and plants. She also enjoyed horseback riding, which allowed her to connect with nature and explore the countryside. Brigitte was a very social person who loved spending time with her friends and family, sharing stories and laughter. Her creativity shone through in her cooking, as she was known for her delicious meals she made out of anything she could find.

Brigitte is survived by her loving children, Gary Morton, Carol Naegele, and Tracey Morton; her cherished grandchildren, John, Nicole, and Billy Naegele, and Gary Morton, II; and her twelve adoring great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her niece, Dagmar Weichl, and her nephew, Heinz Kugelmann. Brigitte was predeceased by her parents, Heinz and Karolina Kugelmann; her sister, Ingrid (Peter) Weichel; her brother, Heinz Kugelmann, Jr.; and her great-granddaughter, Piper Naegele.
