Christopher Chapla

Christopher John Chapla, aged 67, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2024. Born to Chester Chapla Sr. and Martha Chapla in South Bend on January 19, 1957, Chris lived a very active life full of curiosity and companionship.  He left a lasting impression on everyone who met him.

He was preceded in death by his loving mother (Martha), his father (Chester Sr.) and stepmother (Dorothy), his brother (Chester Chapla Jr.) and his sisters (Mary Ann and Catherine Chapla).

Chris loved a challenge, anyone willing to engage in a little mischief with him, and all the other wonderful people who crossed his path over the years.  Even at the end, he was fearless and put everything he had into everything he did.  Whether on to his next great adventure or a well-earned rest, he leaves behind many who will miss his sly smile and unconquerable spirit.

A memorial visitation will be held on April 24th from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m  at Palmer Funeral Home-Bubb Chapel, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka, Indiana 46545.

In lieu of flowers, Chris would have loved for you to reach for the nearest stack of papers or piece of technology and throw it over your shoulder as hard as you can in his memory and in recognition of what is truly important in this life.  If you are the more traditional sort, you may donate in his memory to Center for Hospice 501 Comfort Place.
