David A. Nolan

David Anthony Nolan was born in Chicago IL on June 14, 1967 to Claudette Audrey Nolan and Authur Joe Sr. who both preceded him in death. David was the father of Joseph Flynn and grandfather of Ja’ Liyah Flynn, Father in love to Maureen, Kelvin, Noel and Jael and was the third youngest of eight children. Angela Lynn Holt, Micheal Edward Holt, Kristina Elizabeth Knox (Vincent Knox) who also preceded him in death. His four surviving siblings Cheryl Maria Wright (Jacques Wright), Stephanie Ann Nolan, Kenneth F. Joe (Lisa Joe) and Lynda Dawn Nolan.

David was a loving Husband to Mercie Manyozo Nolan. They met while he was on an evening walk, one look at her and it was love at first sight. From that moment on he knew she would be his wife. They wedded on April 12, 2022 in Las Vegas and have enjoyed being each other’s companion ever since.

David loved his wife wholeheartedly. He often wrote prayers to get him through each day. In his last prayer he thanked Mercie for all the small blessings and the strength she gave him to live his life. In that prayer, he asked God to protect and cover his wife through all trials and tribulations that life may bring.

He spent many years working in billing and collections, where he met countless wonderful people. Throughout those years, many came to know and love his boisterous laughter and the joy he brought to those around him.

David leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles who loved him dearly. Whenever David came into the room, he was a beacon of light and the life of the party. David will truly be missed tremendously.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm on Friday, April 24, 2026 at Palmer Funeral Home--Welsheimer North Chapel, 17033 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00am-12:00pm on Friday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
