I was born 11/11/1956 in Elkhart, IN and today 5/5/2021 I completed my journey to the 100-Acre Woods.
I was greeted by my parents Patricia (Walter) Szostakowski and Harold VanDusen. Also there to hold my hand was my sister Carol King and my brother Harold VanDusen Jr. along with all my beloved pets. I am grateful for no longer being in pain and being able to watch over my loved ones that I have left behind.
During my daily walks in the 100-Acre Woods, I can watch over my son Shawn (Alison) Stevens, their boys Donte and Tayton, my daughter Patricia (Derek) Stoelting, my son Travis (Sara) Paul and their kids Chloe and Conner as well as all my fur grandkids. I will keep watch over my brothers Gerald (Tina) VanDusen and Gary Sr. (Sharon) VanDusen as well as all of my nieces, nephews, and friends.
I was blessed to have a special boy in my life, my LeGO. My wonderful four-legged best friend that kept me active and on my toes. The thought of our car rides and him saying I love you will always make me smile.
Being here, I can continue adding to my Winnie the Pooh collection that just keeps growing and reflect on my life at Indiana Bell as a telephone operator and as a Maintenance Manager for White Lodging and St. Mary’s College.
I will miss taking my friends to their doctors’ appointments or the errands that they needed done. I also will miss wild road trips from Michigan to California with my best friend Shirley. I will miss my talking about life with Scott and John over the kitchen table and trying to give my best advice.
Gardening will be easy here, as Rabbit already planted one for me to watch over and Pooh has the honey for my tea. Well, it is time to go now. Please do not shed tears for me, but instead cherish the memories we have as I cherish all of you in mine.
I have requested no services, but memorial contributions can be made to the St. Joseph Humane Society. A celebration of life will be at a later time for close friends and family. Palmer Funeral Homes-Bubb Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com
