Denice Ann Meyers

Denice Meyers, 67, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Northwest Healthcare in Indianapolis.

Born on March 24, 1959, in South Bend, Denice was the daughter of Vern and Katherine (Gee) Hammond. She spent her life centered around family, friendship, and caring for those she loved most. Denice worked as a sales coordinator at Lock Joint Tube before retiring in 2024, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic.

Denice shared her life with her fiancé, Mark Rodgers. She was a devoted mother to her children: Mandy Meyers of Vine Grove, Kentucky; Dan (Jen) Meyers of Elkton, Maryland; Kate (Jake) Luczkowski of Edwardsburg, Michigan; and Nikki (Erik) Farley of Sykesville, Maryland. She was also a proud and loving grandmother to 12 grandchildren: Brittany-Anne, Nate, Dom, Bryson, Anna, Caleb, Brendan, Daniel, Sydney, Hayden, Lucas, and Lyla.

She is also survived by her brothers, Don and Doug Hammond, both of South Bend; along with close nieces and nephew, Shelley Farrington, Lynne Boren, and Bill Farrington. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Denice found joy in gardening, caring for her beloved pets, spending time with her children and grandchildren, and creating memories with family. Her warmth, kindness, and love for those around her will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 4:00 p.m., at Palmer Funeral Home – Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St., South Bend, IN 46614. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service, beginning at 3:00 p.m. The family requests that everyone wear their University of Michigan attire, just as Denice would have wanted.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Denice’s honor may be given to the Pet Refuge, 4626 S. Burnett Dr., South Bend, IN 46614.
