George Miltenberger Sr. Obituary

George W. Miltenberger Sr, a cherished patriarch, and respected community member, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2024, in Granger, IN, at the age of 89. Born on February 18, 1935, in South Bend, IN, George's life was a testament to his enduring kindness and generosity.

George was the beloved husband of the late Theresa (Derucki) Miltenberger, with whom he shared a beautiful marriage beginning on June 6, 1958. Their love was a dance through life, filled with joy and shared passions. He was the son of the late Daniel and Eliza (Kramer) Miltenberger, who instilled in him the values of hard work and compassion that he carried throughout his life.

A proud National Guard veteran, George dedicated 34 years to Wheel Horse Company in the manufacturing sector, where he was known for his strong work ethic and amiable nature. His colleagues remember him as a man who could always be relied upon, both for his professional expertise and his willingness to lend a helping hand.

George's life was rich with interests that reflected his love for the simple pleasures. An avid fisherman, he found solace and joy in the quiet moments by the water. His garden was a place of tranquility and bounty, a testament to his patience and care. Country music held a special place in his heart, and he cherished the times he spent dancing with his wife, Theresa. Together, they traveled, exploring new places and creating a tapestry of memories.

He is survived by his loving family, including his daughter, Christine (William) Schaal of Granger, and his son, George Miltenberger Jr. of Edwardsburg, MI. George's legacy continues through his adoring grandchildren, Brandi, Billie Jo, Matthew, and Louis, and his great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Olivia, as well as his great-great-grandchild, Salem. Each of them carries a piece of his spirit and will remember him for his boundless love and the gentle wisdom he imparted.

George was a man of many virtues, but above all, he was loving, generous, and kind. His presence was a comfort, his laughter a joy, and his advice a guiding light. To know George was to know the depth of his care for others, and his impact on those around him was profound.

As we bid farewell to George W. Miltenberger, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of love and service to others. His memory will be cherished and kept alive in the stories passed down through generations and in the countless lives he touched. George's journey on this earth has ended, but his spirit remains an indelible part of the tapestry of our lives.
