John "Jack" Rasmussen, Jr.

John “Jack” Rasmussen, Jr., 72 years old, passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Center for Hospice in Elkhart. He was born December 18, 1948 in South Bend to the late John Rasmussen, Sr and Beatrice Laskowski. On May 15, 1987 in Delray Beach, Florida, Jack married his wife of 34 years, Susan Snyder.

Jack was born and raised in South Bend where he worked at the former Rasmussen Men’s Shop, which was started by his grandfather in 1931. After high school, Jack studied at Indiana University - Bloomington where he graduated with a degree in Communications. He loved playing golf and was a member of the Morris Park Country Club. In 1985, Jack moved to Delray Beach, Florida where he met his future wife, Susan. He loved anytime he was able to be near the beach.

Jack is survived by his wife, Susan; three dogs, Coco, Maggie and Gert; two cats, Frank and Sinatra; brother-in-law, Steve (Marilyn) Snyder; niece, Melissa Lehner and her two sons; niece, Megan (Seth) Redman and her three daughters; and nephew, Chip Snyder. He is also survived by several cousins and numerous friends.

The family would like to thank the care and support they received from Center for Hospice in Elkhart.

Per the family, there will be no services at this point. Palmer Funeral Homes-Bubb Chapel and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family with arrangements.
