Sallie Rozel Becker

Sallie Rozel Becker, a cherished educator, and a beacon of kindness in her community, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2024, at the age of 72 in Mishawaka, Indiana. Born on November 7, 1951, in Long Beach, California, Sallie's warmth and wisdom attracted a circle of family and friends who adored her throughout her life.

Sallie's legacy as an inspiring 3rd grade and high school French teacher touched the lives of countless students. She graduated with a Master's degree and dedicated her professional life to the enrichment of young minds. Sallie instilled a love for language and learning, leaving an indelible mark on generations.

Her late husband, Gary Edward Becker, shared a life of love and companionship with her. Sallie's spirit lives on through her beloved children, Sarah (John Cole) Fisher of Mishawaka and Edward Gary Becker of Lansing, Michigan; her adoring grandchildren, Gary Becker, Gavin Fisher, Joshua Cole, Kaleb Becker, and Jacob Becker; and her dear cousins, Frances Lowry and Milo Opal. Sallie was preceded in death by her granddaughter Cassandra Fisher, her sister Wilma Opal, and her brother Jack Doan.

An enthusiast of the cosmic adventures depicted in Star Trek and Star Wars, Sallie relished in movies and books that whisked her away to galaxies far, far away. Her vibrant imagination and passion for stories will remain a treasured memory among all who knew her. Sallie Rozel Becker's departure leaves behind a constellation of fond memories, and she will be dearly missed.
