Steven J. Schumann, 64, residing in South Bend, passed away on Friday, November 27, 2020 at Memorial Hospital. He was born on November 28, 1955 in Plymouth, IN to the late Paul and Alice (Botset) Schumann and was a lifelong resident of the area. Steve was a graduate of Riley High School, and worked as a machinist for Bayer Corporation.
Steve was a jack of all trades, who was a brilliant wood worker and an avid Blackhawks fan. He enjoyed gold prospecting over the years in Southern Indiana, but his greatest joy came in being a master street rod builder, which he did for many years.
Steven is survived by his 3 siblings, Roger (Elaine) Schumann of Crossville, TN, Patricia (James) Horvath of Mishawaka, and Phillip (Deborah) Schumann of Lakeville. He will also leave behind a host of nieces and nephews, all of who will miss him dearly.
Services for Steve will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Palmer Funeral Home – Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend. Friends my visit with the family starting at 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery.
