My mother looked like she was sleeping, and everyone who attended her wake and funeral services were impressed with the services. Some have even expressed that they were going to transfer their arrangements to Palmer from other funeral homes.

I was faced with a seemingly insurmountable situation when my husband was taken from me. The ENTIRE staff for Palmer's stepped up and created an atmosphere where myself and my family could grieve in a manner where we didn't feel like just another "customer." They have been particularly caring in making funeral arrangements for those who have no family or friends. REAL Services is legal guardian for many who have little or no money to pay for services, but regardless of financial resources, our Business of the Year still helps to plan respectful, memorable, and reverent funeral services, just like they would for any other family.
This Business works with others in the community to find resources and options. In one instance, they were able to get flowers donated for the service for an elderly woman who was 101 years old at her death. She had no money, no family, and only REAL Services Guardianship staff to mourn her death.
At times, nursing home staff may be the only family of an elderly patient who has passed away. This thoughtful funeral home provides memorial services at the nursing facility to honor not only the life of the deceased but also to show appreciation for the compassion that the nursing home caregivers have provided and to acknowledge the loss they too are suffering.
An outstanding business in our community with a strong commitment to serving the elderly with dignity and compassion.

I've personally been grateful to the Palmer family, as you know, for their strong ties to the community, and indeed their history with the Wade family. Norm Bone was my first introduction to the specialness of Palmer's, with my father-in-law's funeral (Wyndel Wade) and then with my husband, Wynn's, in 2006. Then Kristi and K.R.'s help with my husband's marker (a coup for keeping the industry local and family owned, if there ever was one!) and now your warm and attentive service - all combined to let me see that Palmer's is in a sense extended family, there to serve as guide and chaperone through one of life's most important, perhaps the most important, transitions.

I just wanted to send a thank you to you and your staff for your professionalism and respectfulness for the care of my uncle, J. Mark Funderburg. I was impressed by the actions of you and your staff during his funeral service on Friday, June 3. I know this has been a very difficult time for our family. Thank you again for your help and for your compassion in a very difficult circumstance.

I cannot begin to say how wonderful all the people are at Palmer Funeral Home. I came to them not really knowing what direction to turn. I first spoke with Kerry and he was very supportive and helpful. I then worked on services, with Tracy, for both my father and mother, and all I can say is that he is "The Best". My immediate need was for my father, and then unfortunately, I needed their help again, with services for my mother. The understanding, supportiveness and the respect they gave my parents and my family was so appreciative. I will always remember everyone's kindness.

I first came to know the Palmer staff firsthand through its pet cremation services when Jamie Hall delivered Midnight's ashes to me. A once wild cat who had adopted me, losing Midnight was hard, but Jamie was so kind and it led to a conversation about pre-planning for my mother who had been in serious decline for some time. When my mother, Marianne Munzel, passed away this August, the pre-planning proved to be a godsend. The care, compassion, expert professional help, and follow through -- also with the funeral home and cemetary in Atlanta (where the services were held) -- were phenomenal. Three words kept being used by everyone who participated in the services: beautiful, dignified, first class. The thanks for that obviously go to a number of people involved, including the Pastor who superbly led the service itself, but in large measure they go to Donna Adkins at Palmer. Donna went above and beyond to attend to every detail, to connect all the dots, and to comfort me throughout the entire process. So much could have gone wrong, especially given that we were crossing state lines, making arrangements long distance, and connecting with a funeral home in Atlanta. Instead, everything went absolutely seamlessly and efficiently; indeed, the various professionals in Atlanta commented to me how impressed they were with Donna's professional handling and interactions with them. At the same time she remained attentive to me as the grieving family member in need of that attention and support not only during the whole event, but also afterwards. One cannot ask for more.

I want to thank Donna for all her help with planning my brother in-laws funeral. My brother and I tried talking with many different funeral homes to try and arrange his husbands funeral, but since there was no money they didn't want to help, Donna went out of her way to make sure that my brother in-law was taken care of. They were kind, and very considerate. I will recommend Palmers to everyone I know. Thank you all for your kindness.

They picked up our baby girl Lucy a miniature Doxie from the vet and took the best of care of her. We picked her up at the cremation facility and she was in a cute little urn. Thank you Palmer Funeral Home!

Pet services took care of my sweet boy, Clapton. He had a sudden change in his health. I was so glad to have Palmer & cremation as an option for our pup when we had to make decisions unexpectedly. The Palmer pet service staff were very compassionate and it was comforting that they were able to pick him up at the vet after we had said our goodbyes. His ashes were ready quickly & we have a nice memorial paw print to remember him by.

I really can't say enough nice things about Palmer pet services. Everyone was kind and helpful and I got my best friend's ashes back very quickly.

Just wanted to thank you for everything. You were absolutely wonderful and made this so much easier to get through.

Thank you so much for all the care and attention for my dad, Bill Webster. Everything was made easier by their preplanning! But also from the meeting with Greg the day he passed to the driving by Jill to the cemetery. It was so nice to have Norm and Tracy there as well that have known my parents for years. I know my mom felt more comfortable with them there. Your special attention to her was appreciated by us - and I'm sure my dad would have been pleased as well. Even though he was 91 and had been at Northwoods for almost a year - it was a difficult event. Everyone involved made it a bit easier. Palmer's was a blessing to our family! Thank you!

I'm writing on behalf of my family for the way your staff helped following the loss of our mother Thelma Bjork. We probably wouldn't have considered Palmer's had it not been for the information we received through Golden Living Nursing Home on 12th Street in Mishawaka. From the moment I received the call from them that mom had taken a turn for the worst, it took only one phone call to set the process in motion. This was a relief for my brothers, and especially for my wife and me since we were out of the state. Your folks were professional in the way they asked how we wanted mom to be taken care of since we were operating on a very limited budget. Greg and his wife at your River Park Chapel made several suggestions that we felt were perfect for the situation. Greg made himself available the entire time answering any questions we had, and following the service he helped in the selection of urns by giving us individual choices for each of us to remember and cherish her forever.

Donna, in particular, made the whole process extremely easy. She took the initiative to guide me to alternate ways of taking care of the finances, which saved me a considerable amount of money. Donna even served as an advocate for me in working with the bank where my deceased brother had an account. She initiated the procedure and then followed up successfully when it seemed that things had encountered an impasse.

My father became ill within the last couple of years and our family thought we would be prepared for what would one day happen. Someday came suddenly, and after all that has been said and done, I do not know what we would of done without all of the help, support, and absolute kindness that the funeral home has shown us. The staff are angels in disguise with patience that is so terribly difficult to find in this day and age. They walked us through everything one step at a time and were brave enough to stand by our side when the aftermath of a passing became down right ugly. Letting a loved one go is never an easy task to say the least, but with the generous help of Palmer's, it made the entire experience one worth remembering for the rest of my own personal existence.

Diana and I were the oldest sisters among the five younger brothers that we adored. I just wanted to give my gratitude to your services for the care you gave during my sisters memorial services. You were blessed in witnessing such a cohesive  family unity  as you  seen in our family. It has been a month since my precious dog died. I could not do it at the time, but I wanted to let everyone know how amazing Palmer Funeral Home is with their pet services. Not only have they taken care of our human family for decades, but they really helped us deal with the death of our precious pet who was just as much a part of our family. I highly recommend them and thank them for always being a source of strength, comfort and support.

There is not a thank you note big enough for me to express my gratitude for all the kindness and respect your staff gave to my deceased husband and my family.  Everyone from the time of picking up his body through aftercare have showed a deep level of compassion and respect to all of us.  It really helped in getting through this time.

Words can not even express what your hard work meant to My Family and Me, Dad looked better than he has in 10 years, maybe longer. Even My cousin, who is the director at my Uncles Funeral Home here in Indianapolis, Said that he thought it was one of the best he had seen, since he just saw my Dad about a week before he died, and was please to see the Flag draped as it was, he Say's he gets a few extra Funerals a year, as NO one in Indianapolis does that but them, In His words, a " Very Professional Job"and Sean is not one to throw compliments around lightly. That said, it was all beautiful.

And everything went off without a hitch, The Military Ceremony was unbelievable, and if you had not done enough for my Family!!! Kristi shows up at the Interment! She has bent over backwards for my Dad and Me since we walked in Her office at Southlawn the 6Th of June in 2009 to purchase the plots for Mom and Dad, She has even taken time to take Candles out to my Parents grave, and Her being there, just blew me away, as well as her offer to keep running them down there for me, what a wonderful thing for Her to do.

In Short, The Palmer Family really does know how to run a Funeral Home and Cemetery, With TRUE sincerity and customer service that you can only get from a Family Owned Company, Your Family should be proud of the great business that you run. My Only regret, is that we did not use your Funeral Services for Mom.

Our mother passed away on July 25th 2010 and our family was struggling through this very difficult time. We knew she was going to pass away at home peacefully but we weren't really prepared for it when the time came. Your staff was so kind and helpful. He came back to the house and gave us time to get organized and have everything ready for the obituary and services. He guided us through the process and made it as peaceful for us as possible. He was very efficient and we trusted him completely. Our mother had been through a terrible struggle at the end of her life and did not look like herself at all by the end. She was so thin and just not looking like herself when she passed. Your team tried their very best to make our mother look like she used to. We probably wouldn't have considered Palmer's had it not been for the information we received through Golden Living Nursing Home on 12th Street in Mishawaka. From the moment I received the call from them that mom had taken a turn for the worst, it took only one phone call to set the process in motion. This was a relief for my brothers, and especially for my wife and me since we were out of the state. Your folks were professional in the way they asked how we wanted mom to be taken care of since we were operating on a very limited budget. Greg and his wife at your River Park Chapel made several suggestions that we felt were perfect for the situation. Greg made himself available the entire time answering any questions we had, and following the service he helped in the selection of urns by giving us individual choices for each of us to remember and cherish her forever.

My father became ill within the last couple of years and our family thought we would be prepared for what would one day happen. Someday came suddenly, and after all that has been said and done, I do not know what we would of done without all of the help, support, and absolute kindness that the funeral home has shown us. The staff are angels in disguise with patience that is so terribly difficult to find in this day and age. They walked us through everything one step at a time and were brave enough to stand by our side when the aftermath of a passing became down right ugly. Letting a loved one go is never an easy task to say the least, but with the generous help of Palmer's, it made the entire experience one worth remembering for the rest of my own personal existence.

Diana and I were the oldest sisters among the five younger brothers that we adored. I just wanted to give my gratitude to your services for the care you gave during my sisters memorial services. Our mother passed away on July 25th 2010 and our family was struggling through this very difficult time. We knew she was going to pass away at home peacefully but we weren't really prepared for it when the time came. Your staff was so kind and helpful. He came back to the house and gave us time to get organized and have everything ready for the obituary and services. He guided us through the process and made it as peaceful for us as possible. He was very efficient and we trusted him completely. Our mother had been through a terrible struggle at the end of her life and did not look like herself at all by the end. She was so thin and just not looking like herself when she passed. Your team tried their very best to make our mother look like she used to. It had to be a hard process and we appreciate your best efforts. She looked as good as she could under the circumstances and for that we thank you.

A little over three months ago, you helped my family through a very difficult time.  My only grandmother took a quick turn for the worse and was finally free of pain, struggles, and worry.  She was ready to go, even if I was not prepared for her death.  Your staff was able to quickly make all of the needed arrangements when my family was still numb with shock and sadness.  Even now, it seems like it never happened.  I want to thank you for the care, support and direction you provided for us during such a difficult and heart breaking time.  You did everything possible to make it as easy for us as you could.  I don't think I have ever seen my grandma look so young and beautiful as she did at her funeral.   Your team did an amazing job and I know she and my grandpa would have been proud to be seen like that.  Thank you, Erin
