Welcome to the memorial page for

Andrew "Andy" Joel Clark

April 11, 1969 ~ September 5, 2015 (age 46) 46 Years Old
Andrew Joel Clark of Granger, Indiana passed away Saturday, September 5, as a result of a tragic automobile accident.  He is survived by a large family and too many friends to count.  But always in the center of his great big world were his wife, Kara, and his three children, Maxwell, Addison and Reese.  As a father:  Oh my, did he ever love and adore his kids! You couldn’t talk to Andy for two minutes without hearing about their most recent, impressive accomplishments in school and on the stage and in sports endeavors!

Andy was born and raised in Richmond, Indiana.  He loved dearly his wonderful parents, Mary Jo and Len Clark, also of Richmond, and his brother, Ben Clark and sister Alison (Clark) Zajdel.  It was there, while in high school and as active members of the youth group of First English Lutheran Church that Andy met Kara and set off with her on an adventurous journey into adulthood, marriage and parenthood.

Andy was born into a huge, seemingly inseparable, extended family. - - parents,  siblings, grandparents, aunts and uncles, numerous cousins and even more numerous friends.  As they were growing up, they all seemed to gravitate to the family cottage on Lake Gage, where Andy learned to ski and fish and make various kinds of mischief!

Andy and Kara married on December 17, 1994 in Richmond.   And it turned out that Andy and Kara came to each other as a “package deal”!  Kara’s dear sister, Jody, and Andy’s close cousin Chris Konow, also decided to marry, and like Andy and Kara, had three kids.  The five Clarks and the five Konows did virtually everything together - - at their cottages at Wall Lake, on trips to Florida and Mexico and everywhere else fun could be found!

Andy attended Richmond public schools and later graduated with a degree in philosophy from Hope College.  He played varsity soccer in both high school and college.  In 1995, Andy went to work for his great friend and mentor, Bob Wiley, at North American Forest Products in Edwardsburg, Michigan, and rose to the rank of Chief Operating Officer.

Survivors include Andy’s wife Kara and three children, Max, Addison and Reese; his parents, Mary Jo and Len Clark; his brother, Ben Clark (Krista); his sister, Alison Zajdel (Kyle); mother and father in law, Anne and George Griffith; sisters in law, Jody Konow and Wendy (Dave) Mueller; aunts, Kathy Konow and Susie Seu, uncles, Tom Konow and Tim Volpert; cousins, Chris Konow, Nick Konow, Jordan Konow, Emily Volpert, Joe Volpert, Keoki Seu, Kalani Seu and Alika Seu; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and his dear friends Mike and Tim Stevens.
