Betty E. Goodman

Betty E. Goodman, 81, of South Bend, IN passed away at 9:36 a.m. Friday, August 28, 2015 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend, IN.  She was born on May 29, 1934 in Mishawaka, IN to the late Claude and Rose K. (Barnes) Widup.  On November 24, 1962 in Mishawaka, IN she was united in marriage to John H. Goodman. 

Mrs. Goodman is survived by her husband, John H. Goodman; daughter, Linda (formerly James) Kobb of Mishawaka, IN; granddaughter, Carrie (Branden Banghart) Kobb of Mishawaka, IN; grandson, David (Lexie) Kobb of Mishawaka, IN; two sisters, Nancy (John) Dreibelbis of Lakeville, IN and Sue (Clyde) Mims of Prattville, AL and brother, Richard "Dean" (Darlene) Widup of Osceola, IN.  She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary (Kenneth) Germann and Madge (Ralph) Woolet and two brothers, Gerald (Laverne) Widup and Ronald (Joanne) Widup. 

She was a lifelong Michiana resident.  She worked for Stoners Restaurant as a cook and a waitress and worked for many years as K-Mart.  She loved reading, music, history, and spending time with family.

A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend, IN.   Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services.
