MISHAWAKA – James S. Luvene, 26, residing in Mishawaka, Indiana passed away on Friday, September 4, 2015 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka.

James was born on November 30, 1988 in Long Beach, California to Maurice Lewis Luvene and Rochelle (Wilson) Luvene.  His father, Maurice Lewis Luvene has preceded him in death.  His mother, Rochelle (Charles F.) Hurt of Mishawaka survives.  James has lived in the Mishawaka area since 1996, coming from Downey, California.  He attended Mishawaka High School, where he played football and was part of the swim team.

James proudly served our country in the United States Marine.  Following his service our country, he attended Ivy Tech South Bend where he studied Business Administration.

Along with his mother and step-father, Rochelle and Charles Hurt, James is survived by his sister, Jennifer Sabrina (Daniel) Rummel of New Bern, NC; aunts, Mechelle (John) Kemp of Mishawaka, and Sha (John) Moses of Chicago; uncle, Michael Wilson of Lafayette; honorary aunt, Shechelle (William) Hinton of Los Angeles; honorary brother, Branden Kemp of Mishawaka; maternal grandfather, Charles Wilson of Chicago; step-sister and step-brothers, Tiwana Moore, Uthaman Adul, and Tico A. Hurt, all of Boling Brook, IL; nieces and nephews, Alesia Rummel and Aiden Rummel; plus a host of many wonderful relatives and friends.

Memorial services with Military Honors for James S. Luvene will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 3, 2015 at the Chapel at Southfield Village, 6450 Miami Circle, South Bend, IN 46614.  Memorial contributions may be offered to Humane Society of St. Joseph County, 2506 Grape Rd., Mishawaka, IN 46545.  Palmer Funeral Home – River Park and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.
